Hey friends,

We've been living in our new house for eight months now, and officially homeschooling in this home for six of them.

The kids use this space every day for crafting, reading, swinging on the sensory swing, hanging out on the couch, playing (you can see playmobil on the shelf in the first picture, they were in the middle of playing this Saturday afternoon when I snapped some pictures), but homeschooling....

We've officially homeschooled in this room maybe fourteen days.

Pictured

First row: our natural world books and seasonal display

Second row: the two shelf work materials I still have out specifically for my two big boys, our shelf for early reading, and the creating shelves of our main school shelf.

Third row: the opposite side of our school room is our sensory swing, an office area, and the "watching room" (we use a projector with a pull-down screen)

Next few rows: our library, with some shelf details

Last row: our chalkboard and calendar area, with the work mats

Even though we don't necessarily homeschool in this space, I appreciate having everything organized and easily accessible. For example, I needed a human anatomy book the other day for a impromtu lesson, and it was so easy to locate exactly what I needed.

Our homeschool has evolved over the years, but the younger children still do Montessori lessons. The bottom of our main shelf is dedicated to their work, and the rug is a nice place for them to work independently.

The shelf on the opposite side of the room is where the older children keep their daily work, where our Ambleside and readaloud books live, as well as options for work to do with their hands while I read to them.

After many years of dreaming for a space like this, I am so grateful to have a place for all the homechool bits and bobs.

Homeschool joy,

Olivia
